LEGEND

Everything start in Clube de Futebol Andorinha de Santo António, in Portugal.

But in 1995 he signed for Clube Desportivo Nacional, also from Portugal, but a 'bigger' club, and after 2 years in the young players he goes to the Sporting Clube de Portugal.

When Ronaldo was fifteen years old, was diagnosed with a heart condition, a condition that might have forced him to give up playing football. Sporting informed the mother of Ronaldo, Maria Dolores Aveiro, the problem, which, aware of the risks, gave him permission to go to the hospital. There, he underwent an operation in which the area of the heart that it was causing the problem has been laser etched. The surgery was performed in the morning and Ronaldo was discharged from hospital by the end of the afternoon, the team resumed workouts just a few days later.

Sporting

In his first year at Sporting, he played for the U-16,17 and 18 and also, the first team. He was the only player that did that in Sporting, and in his debut with the first team.. 2 amazing goals against Moreirense!

Ronaldo was first approached by Arsenal, but Arsene Wenger did not agree with the direction of Sporting, however, caught the attention of Sir Alex Ferguson manager of Manchester United in the summer of 2003, when Sporting beat Manchester United 3-1 in the inauguration of the Alvalade XXI stadium in Lisbon.

Ronaldo's performance impressed even the Manchester United players, on the flight back to England, asked Sir Alex Ferguson to hire to replace David Beckham, who had moved to Real Madrid.

Everything was going so fast to Cristiano Ronaldo.. Cristiano Ronaldo definately convinced a top club to sign him, was after a 2003 pre-season friendly match, between Sporting and Manchester United, in the inauguration of the "Estádio José de Alvalade" in Lisbon.

The Sporting defeated the Red Devils by 3-1 and United players were said to be stunned by Cristiano Ronaldo's technique skills as well as his natural talent and kept talking about it on their way home.

Rumors say that Sir Alex Ferguson had a chat with his team players and then decided to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, in a transfer fee around 15 million euros (£12.24 million pounds).

Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo started with a memorable debut for Manchester United, coming in as a sub against Bolton Wanderers and playing for around half an hour. But, those 30 minutes.. Oh!

But Ronaldo just scored his first goal for Manchester United, by taking a curled free kick, in a 3-0 win against Portsmouth, in November 2003.

In 2005, Cristiano Ronaldo's father, José Dinis Aveiro, died of an alcoholism liver disease. Ronaldo was 20 years old and that was one of his most difficult moments of his life.

Cristiano Ronaldo exhausted all superlatives during his six years with United, while he matured from an inexperienced, young winger in 2003 into officially the best footballer on the planet in 2008.

Ficheiro:Ronaldo Tevez.jpgOn the day he departed for Real Madrid in a deal worth £80m - making him the world's most expensive player - his former manager Sir Alex Ferguson said, "Cristiano has been a marvellous player for Manchester United. His contribution has been a major factor in the club’s success in that time and his talent, his ability to entertain and his infectious personality have enthralled fans the world over."

The story goes that Sir Alex was persuaded to buy Ronaldo - largely unknown when he signed as an 18-year-old for £12.24m in 2003 - by his players on the plane home from a pre-season friendly against Sporting. In truth, the boss had long been aware of his ability. The urgency stemmed from other clubs’ increasing interest. This was a target Sir Alex simply could miss out on.

Ronaldo wasted little time in showing off his sublime skills with a stunning 30-minute debut against Bolton at OT in August 2003. There was a buzz of excitement as soon as he stepped off the bench and, after 39 appearances and eight goals that season – including the opener in the 3-0  FA Cup final win over Millwall – he was named Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year.

His second term didn’t quite live up to his first, but late season form saw him end 2004/05 with nine goals in 50 appearances. In 2005/06 Ronny again reserved his best form for the latter stages, but the inconsistencies of a developing young player were being ironed out.

He departed, full of hope and with great expectations, for the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany - what turned out to be a truly defining moment in his career. In the quarter finals, Portugal met England and, after Wayne Rooney’s sending off, Ronaldo became the pantomime villain for the English press. Some doubted he would return to Manchester. But Sir Alex assured him any ill-feeling would blow over. It’d happened with Eric Cantona and David Beckham. Ronaldo met the inevitable boos with the best football of his life.

United’s title success in 2006/2007 was a team effort, but one man took the lead role in every major
plotline. It began with the barnstorming 5-1 win over Fulham – Ronaldo and Rooney ran the show and publicly banished claims they were at odds. Dazzling wing-play was backed with regular assists and crucial goals. His form that season brought a glut of individual accolades and, despite interest from other  clubs - notably Real Madrid - he extended his contract until 2012.

Cristiano Ronaldo header vs Chelsea in Champions League final

Ronaldo improved further in 2007/08, netting a staggering 42 goals in all competitions. In May 2008 he fired United to domestic and European glory; scoring a decisive penalty on the final day of the league campaign and a powerful header in the Champions League final in Moscow. His staggering individual performances gleaned a clean sweep of club and domestic individual honours, with global gongs soon to follow.

Cristiano Ronaldo in Manchester United

At Euro 2008, Ronaldo’s future was again the subject of claim and counter-claim. Happily, in the end, he pledged his allegiance to United, although ankle surgery delayed his start to the 2008/09 campaign. He made his return as a substitute against Villarreal in the Champions League and was given a rousing home reception. Two months later, his 100th Reds goal arrived against Stoke City at OT on 15 November 2008.

Ronaldo’s magical 2008 was rounded off with another string of individual honours. In October he was named FIFPro Player of the Year, and in December became the first United player since George Best in 1968 to be awarded the prestigious Ballon d’Or trophy. To cap it off, in January 2009, he became the first Red to win the FIFA World Player of the Year award. "This is the climax  of a fantastic era," he said. "I'm lucky to be part of United's history. It's one of the most important moments of my life, I hope to be back in this position again."

While Ronaldo did not dominate on the field in 2008/09 to the same degree as he did in 2007/08, he still played a significant role as the Reds achieved a hat-trick of league titles and reached a second successive European Cup final. For example, Cristiano scored in all three knock-out rounds of the Champions League, including the club's Goal of the Season to defeat Porto in the quarter-final second leg in his native Portugal and a double in the semi-final second leg against Arsenal.

In his final appearance at Old Trafford, Ronaldo received his third championship medal after the Reds sealed the title with a point against Arsenal. There was no indication then that Cristiano was contemplating an exit - but that all changed on 11 June 2009 when United announced he had "expressed his desire to leave" and that Real Madrid's world record £80m offer had been accepted. Less than three weeks later, the transfer was concluded.

And.. Was a thank you and Good bye! And as he always says, we never know the future, maybe he comeback to Old Trafford.

Real Madrid
Cristiano Ronaldo presentation in Santiago Bernabeu
More than 80 000 fans received and welcomed Cristiano Ronaldo in the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, during his official presentation. Ronaldo's career in Real Madrid started well, scoring plenty of goals on his first matches and only getting stopped by his first injury, in October 2009. However, CR7 recovered his form a few months later and still managed to score 33 goals on his first season playing for Real Madrid, which unfortunately, didn't prove to be enough for the club to win any trophies in the 2009-2010 season.

Was a hard moment for Real Madrid, because Barcelona was with their best team ever, with a great moment and winning everything.. Was a new challenge to Cristiano Ronaldo. A really hard challenge.

The first games against Barcelona was not so good.. But in some years, everything changed!

Cristiano Ronaldo started to make lots of goals against Barcelona, one of them, in the Copa del Rey final, an amazing goal that make he win his first title with Real Madrid against the best Barcelona EVER! And was just the beggining..

On May 15, 2011, Ronaldo became the highest scorer in a season in the history of Real Madrid with 53 goals, surpassing the previous record of 49 goals by Ferenc Puskás. Ronaldo broke the record of most goals scored in a season in the League with 40 goals, surpassing Telmo Zarra (38 goals), 1951, and the brand of Hugo Sanchez (38 goals), 1990, with the sports newspaper brand officially handing him the trophy Pichichi (top scorer of the League), alleging that scored 41 goals (sports newspaper Marca awarded him a goal that gave Pepe a League match against Real Sociedad).

2011-2012 season with Cristiano Ronaldo leading the charge game after game, the Merengues ended with Barcelona's hegemony in Spain and won the Spanish League in a record-breaking fashion (100 points) also broke the record for goals scored, with 121 in 38 games.

The Champions League journey ended once more in the semi-finals round, in a penalty shoot-out decision against Bayern Munich. As for the Copa del Rey, Barça knocked out Real Madrid with a 4-3 result on aggregate.

On September 15, 2013 Day, Cristiano Ronaldo extended his contract until 2018, amid a possible exit from Real Madrid.

In 2013, was awarded for the second time in his life with the Golden Ball FIFA and re-elected the best player in the world. Cristiano Ronaldo came to be thrilled to receive the award which was presented by Pelé.

Was one of the best moments on the history of the football, a moment of respect, when he cries of emotion for win the title that he want and fight every second for it.. LEGEND!

In the return match against Bayern Munich on valid match in the Champions League, Cristiano Ronaldo broke a record and became the highest scorer in one edition of the tournament after scoring twice against the German team in a 4-0 victory being one of them in a beautiful free kick underneath the barrier, and ensuring place in the final of the competition in Lisbon.

At the final of the Champions League, Cristiano Ronaldo played obviously injured, was not 100%, but he played, helped the team and made the fourth goal from penalty in a 4-1 upset over the rival Atletico Madrid , thus winning the tenth cup (La Decima) for Real Madrid and his second Champions League.

He ended the Champions League 2013-14 season with 17 goals in 11 games, what is one of the most amazing records in the history! It's a machine!
